02 March 09 - 22:33Chasing a comet i got stung by a bee.
The clouds were nowhere to be seen tonight (that's two nights in a row now. It must be a record). Once again i set my sights on Lulin. It didnt take me long to find it (i'm becoming quite the expert at finding comets now..........if they are named Lulin). There is was again in all its fuzzy gloriousness. While scanning the general area up and around Lulin something big and sparkly caught my eye, so after a couple of minutes of observing the comet i went in search of that big sparkly thing. It turned out to be M44/NGC 2632 (the Beehive cluster). Call me slow off the mark here but i have never seen this before (oh come on dont look so suprised). It was (and still is i'm sure) absolutely STUNNING. Its so big and open yet with so many stars that it just sparkles up there the night sky. Its much better looking then those Seven Sisters.Keep that to yourselves though. I dont want any hate mail about it.
